Nein, eigentlich ganz im Gegenteil. Eigentlich ist die Lidrandpflege etwas, dass jeder von uns und vor allem Kontaktlinsenträger machen sollten. Bis dato habe ich mich mit dem Thema relativ wenig auseinander gesetzt. In Verwendung hatte ich bis jetzt immer nur einen Lipo Nit Augenspray, über den ich euch schon berichtet habe, der mein eher trockenes Auge während des Tages gut unterstützt und den Tragekomfort von Kontaktlinsen maßgeblich erhöht.

Lidrandentzündung

Bis vor kurzem hatte ich ebenfalls noch nie Beschwerden mit meinem Lid, doch dass sich das spontan ändern würde, hätte ich nie gedacht. Ich hatte meine Kontaktlinsen eine längere Zeit jeden Tag getragen hatte und bereits gemerkt hatte, dass meine Augen nun wieder einmal eine Kontaktlinsen Pause verlangen. Doch am Abend einer Veranstaltung musste ich leider immer wieder und auch über längere Zeit direkt unter einer Belüftung stehen, die ganz schön viel Wind herausgeblasen hat. Ich hatte tatsächlich das Gefühl, dass dies für mein Auge nun ganz und gar nicht gut sein wird. Und tatsächlich bin ich dann am nächsten Tag mit einer dicken, fetten und sehr geschwollenen Lidrandentzündung (Blepharitis) am rechten Auge aufgewacht. Abgesehen davon, dass dies nun wirklich nicht schön aussieht, kommt noch dazu, dass mein Sehvermögen dadurch beeinträchtigt wurde und zum ganzen Überdruss war an ein Augen Make-up natürlich gar nicht mehr zu denken. Das Ganze hat mich dann wirklich sehr grimmig gestimmt.

Doch wie es der Zufall oft so will, bekam ich vor kurzem ein tolles Paket von Lipo Nit mit einem kompletten Set für die Lidpflege zugesendet. Perfekter hätte das Timing dafür nicht sein können. Gleich am selben Tag habe ich mit der Behandlung gestartet und gerne erkläre ich euch nun Step by Step wie eine perfekte Lidpflege erfolgen sollte.

Lidrandhygiene

1. Die Reinigung der Lidränder sollte täglich erfolgen.
2. Zusätzlich empfiehlt sich mehrmals pro Woche eine Wärme-Gel-Brille, welche auf rund 40 Grad erwärmt werden sollte, zu verwenden. Unter der Wärme-Gel-Brille sollen angefeuchtete Kompressen auf die geschlossen Augenlider aufgelegt werden. (Falls ihr keine Gel Brille zur Hand habt, kann auch auf einen warmen, feuchten Waschlappen zurückgegriffen werden, wenn dieser hygienisch sauber und einwandfrei ist.)
3. Im Anschluss erfolgt eine sanfte Massage der Lidränder um das verflüssigte Sekret auszustreichen.
4. Zum Schluss reinigt man die Lidränder mit einem in Lipo Nit Lidpflege getränktem Wattepad. Ich rate zur Lipo Nit Lidpflege da sie tensidefrei (seifenfrei) ist und somit die Lipidschicht des Auges nicht beschädigt.

WICHTIG: Hausmittel wie das Auflegen von Kamillenteebeuteln oder Babyshampoo sollten nicht verwendet werden, da die Entzündung dadurch oft verschlimmert wird. Kamille kann am Auge Allergien und Entzündungen hervorrufen und es zusätzlich noch austrocknen. In den meisten Babyshampoos sind Tenside enthalten, welche die Augenlider entfetten und den Tränenfilm zusätzlich schädigen. (Quelle: Pult H. Die Meibomsche Drüse. DOZ 2010;10:76-79)

Mittlerweile sind zwei Wochen vergangen und mein Auge ist nicht mehr geschwollen. Die Lidrandentzündung ist aber leider noch nicht ganz abgeklungen. Allerdings merke ich, wie es Tag für Tag besser wird. Da mein Lid noch ein wenig verformt ist, drückt das Lid weiterhin auf meine Hornhaut, was zur Auswirkung hat, dass ich derzeit einen höhere Hornhautverkrümmung habe und meine Sehleistung weiterhin beeinträchtig ist. Nach Absprache mit meinem Augenarzt und Augenoptiker benötigt es einfach noch ein wenig Zeit, doch in naher Zukunft sollte alles wieder normal sein.

Lidrandpflege – jetzt aber richtig.

Eyelid care – the latest hype? GIVE AWAY

No, actually quite the contrary. Actually, the eyelid care is something that every one of us and especially contact lens wearers should do. To be honest, I have dealt with the topic relatively rare. I used until now only a Lipo Nit eye spray, that helps my rather dry eye well during the day and significantly increases the wearing comfort of contact lenses.

Blepharitis

Until recently, I have never had any complaints with my lid, but that this would change spontaneously I never thought. I had worn my contact lenses a longer time each day and had already noticed that my eyes are now calling for a little break of contact lenses. But on the evening of an event, unfortunately, I had to stand again and again for a long time directly under a ventilation, which has blown quite a lot of wind out. I actually felt that this won’t be good for my eye. And indeed, the next day I woke up with a thick, fat and very swollen eye lid infection (blepharitis) on the right eye. Apart from the fact that this really does not look nice, it comes to the fact that my eyesight was impaired by this and of course I couldn’t use eye make-up at this time. The whole thing really made me very grim.

But some things happen at the right time.  I recently received a great package of Lipo Nit with a complete set for eyelid care. The timing could not have been more perfect for that. On the same day I started with the treatment and I would like to explain to you step by step how a perfect eyelid care should be done.

Eye lid hygiene 

1. The cleaning of the eyelids should be done daily.
2. In addition, it is recommended to use several times a week a warm-gel-mask, which should be heated to about 40 degrees. Moistened compresses should be placed on the closed eyelids and under the warm-gel-mask. (If you do not have warm-gel-masks on your site, you can also use a warm, damp washcloth if it is hygienically clean and flawless.)
3. This is followed by a gentle massage of the eyelid margins to smear the liquefied secretion.
4. Finally, clean the eyelid margins with a cotton pad soaked in Lipo Nit eye lid care. I advise Lipo Nit eyelid care because it is surfactant-free (soap-free) and thus does not damage the lipid layer of the eye.

IMPORTANT: Home remedies such as chamomile tea towels or baby shampoo should not be used, as it often worsens the infection. Camomile can cause allergies and infections on the eye and additionally dry it out. Most baby shampoos contain surfactants that degrease the eyelids and additionally damage the tear film. Meanwhile, two weeks have passed and my eye is no longer swollen. Unfortunately, the lid margin inflammation has not quite disappeared yet. However, I notice how it gets better day by day. Since my eyelid is still a little deformed, the eyelid continues to press my cornea, which has the effect that I am currently experiencing more astigmatism and my vision is still impaired. After consultation with my ophthalmologist and optometrist it just takes a little time, but in the near future everything should be back to normal.

Eye lid care – but now right.
