The Eyewear Forum

//There are a lot of bloggers in the world wide web out there. Everyone has a special focus, like food, fashion, lifestyle, beauty or similar ones. At that time, just over one and a half years ago, when I decided to start my own blog there were two main reasons for me. The first reason was that I was searching for two years for an Eyewear blog in the German-speaking area and did not found one. And the second major reason was that I am an active member of the optics industry, and I am personally very enthusiastic about the diversity, the energy and the different personalities involved in this industry. I discovered at this time that the stories of our industry aren’t told well but nevertheless are glasses relevant for at least every second person (due to a lack of vision). Spectacles are more than just visual aids, because they are a statement and they are an absolute fashion accessory.

When I get back through some blogs, I see a dominant eyewear brand, which carries everyone from young to old: Ray Ban. But let’s be honest, there are so many great spectacles labels out there, and definitely not just this one. When I visit an eyewear fair, there is always a „trend hall“ with all the IT-labels. The hall, which sprays energy, shows innovations and sets trends. (Side note: Ray Ban is never in one of these halls) and with my Eyewear blog www.faceprint.at, I would like to present to you precisely these brands, which take great influence because they are young, dynamic, spontaneous and honest.

Also schaut gerne hin.

Daniel Hechter

//On Facebook, there is the group „The Eyewear Forum“ by my friend Maarten, which has clearly focused on independent labels. The Eyewear Forum is a closed group with over 10,000 members worldwide, who are in some way connected to eyeglasses. Because of Silmo (this eyewear fair in Paris), which is celebrating its 50th birthday, my eyewear bloggers and my colleagues have created a photo gallery for the past 50 years. I will show you these pictures also here on my blog and you also will get the one or the other word about some independent eyewear brands. So let’s have a look.

Daniel Hechter

This sophisticated style by Daniel Hechter Eyewear features a lot of details. At first glance, it presents a round basic shape in an intensive but unobtrusive cherry colour. The finesses is in the high density acetate, which enables a very precise and fine cutting and edgy outlines. All details together sum up to a perfectly designed frame full of French life of attitude and classic chic. Oh là là!

Daniel Hechter . New York

//As you already know we’ve recently been to New York. Actually, we had planned some great spectacle shootings during our stay, but unfortunately we had bad luck with the weather – rain and wind dominated our trip. But we used the few sunrays for a few shootings, which I will now gladly present to you here on the blog. The first shoot I show you, we took at the Flatiron District beside the Flatiron Building, which is located at the junction of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street and is a landmark of New York City. In the pictures you see a Daniel Hechter glasses, which is known as French fashion brand.
