About eyewear-No-Gos and all-time favorites: Bloggerin Jennifer Bitsche in the interview with aumedo

Today you will find out why I am writing a blog about eyewear and how many glasses I have. Aumedo, a German platform for opticians, eye doctors and eyewear brands, asked me for an interview. And this interview I would like to present you here on my blog.

In her texts, she presents interesting trends, tips and novelties. Jennifer Bitsche, the blogger behind faceprint.at focus always eyewear as her leading role in all subjects. In an interview with aumedo, the 31-year-old, who has only been running her blog since this year, talks about her passion for blogging about eyeglasses.

How did you get to write a glasses blog?

„A blog that focuses the topic of eyewear and does not loose sight of the fashion component I have been looking for a long time. Eyewear is rather little represented in the „blog world“, which provides many exciting reports about outfits and accessories. Since the glasses sits in the middle of the face and can be a really meaningful part of the overall picture, the glasses or the sunglasses should be given more attention in my opinion. That is why I created my blog faceprint.at.“

What does blogging mean to you and how do you think your readers benefit from your contributions?

„Blogging is for me a journey which goal I do not know yet. In the beginning I started with a post, which I would now no longer write in this form. I also get to know my readers better from post to post and which contents they prefer. I would not have thought that my blog would become a second profession. I think my readers benefit mainly from my insider knowledge. I am in direct contact with many manufacturers, and I also know the trends that are beside the mainstream.“

What should glasses have or how does it have to look like that they can be mentioned in your blog?

„It is not so much the material or the color. It is always the form first that gets my attention. I like to wear casual, unpretentious, minimalistic outfits, in this direction is also my taste for eyewear, so you can find on my blog rarely colorful, flowered or crazy glasses.“

Do you have timeless favorite models?Brille Rolf Diplomat

Model Diplomat from Rolf spectacles is „my all-time favorite“. Every outfit is spoiled with these glasses easy and casual and the wearing comfort is really unbeatable! Otherwise, of course, there are several black acetate versions in my collection.“

How much money do you spend on an average pair of glasses?

„This depends on whether I buy an optical pair of glasses or sunglasses. Since my debility of sight is relatively high, glasses in my diopter are more expensive. Therefore and because of the visual look I am wearing my sunglasses with contact lenses.“

What is a No Go?

„A real No Go for eyeglasses I do not really have. The basic prerequisite is, of course, that the quality is right. But generally, I prefer clear structures in terms of design. For this reason, I would (probably) never wear glasses which e.g. is right square and left round.“

What was the most memorable experience you would never have had without your glasses?

„There are always interesting encounters and experiences with glasses. I am often referred to my eyeglasses and at a design fair I received three purchase offers for my glasses – I remembered that!“

What is your outfit order? Are you looking for a pair of glasses first, and you’re voting for the rest, or vice versa?

„Most of the time I’m looking for the glasses first, then I am doing my make-up and at the end I am thinking of a suitable outfit – this is the rule. Of course it sometimes turns out differently.“

Jennifer Bitsche mit runder BrilleHow many glasses do you have and how often do you change the glasses?

„I actually have a lot glasses, but I have it with my clothes: If a new pair of glasses come in, another is put into the background or even unfortunately no longer worn. This happens then rather unconsciously and at some point I realize that I haven’t worn some glasses for a long time. At the moment I have about 10 „active“ optical glasses and the number of sunglasses I should rather be silent [laughs]. Nevertheless, I am always happy about every new pair of glasses.“

What do you want to say to people who are unhappy with wearing glasses?

„There is a matching pair of glasses for each face. I really believe that! Sometimes you have to trust yourself a bit more and do not just follow the trend, because: Each pair of glasses is an individual expression of the personality!“
